First Loganair Jet Lands In Stornoway

The Loganair Embraer 145 Jet made its first scheduled flight from Glasgow to Stornoway yesterday, carrying twenty-three passengers and four crew.

The 49-seater cuts 18 minutes off the journey and will operate on the afternoon and evening flights for the next next two weeks and, after that, will be utilised on all flights between the two airports. It will also operate on the Glasgow to Benbecula route at weekends.

This is a significant improvement in air travel for the Western Isles, both from the point of view of a faster service and increased capacity and will be of great benefit to both visitors and islanders alike.
