TripAdvisor Recommended Accommodation in North Lewis

Cabuzana Bed and Breakfast is situated in the Ness area of the Isle of Lewis - the most northerly district in the Western Isles. We are only a five minute drive from the Butt of Lewis, renowned for its iconic Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, varied birdlife, seals and the occasional passing dolphins, whales or basking sharks. Our situation is ideal for cyclists completing the Hebridean Way Cycling Route, which runs the length of the Western Isles, through 10 islands, and has become extremely popular since being launched in March 2016 by the renowned Scottish ultra endurance athlete and broadcaster, Mark Beaumont.

Over the past few years, Ness has enjoyed a surge of interest from visitors, as a result of the publication of The Lewis Trilogy, by well-known Scottish author Peter May. The first of the three books, "The Blackhouse", is a crime novel set in Ness and featuring many actual locations in the area, as well as several characters based on some of our more colourful local personalities. It never fails to amaze us the number of our guests, from throughout Europe and beyond, who have read this book and are eager for more information. The good news is that a Guided Tour of Ness locations featured in "The Blackhouse"  is now available, courtesy of Sporsnis, every Tuesday throughout the months of April to October. The tour costs £10 per person and lasts approximately 1 hour.

The area is blessed with numerous pristine beaches, bordered by sandy machair land with its unique flora - a well signposted coastal walk provides easy access to these stunning sights.   Loch Stiapabhat Local Nature Reserve, the first of its kind in the Western Isles, is highly popular with bird-watchers and, for those interested in the history and culture of the area, a visit to the excellent Comunn Eachdraidh Nis (Ness Historical Society) Museum and St Moluag's Church at Eoropie, dating back to the 12th century, is a must.

Cabuzana Bed and Breakfast is an ideal base from which to explore Lewis and is only approximately a half-hour drive from Stornoway Ferry Terminal and some forty minutes from Stornoway Airport.

Your hosts at Cabuzana Bed and Breakfast, Annie and Donald MacKenzie, are committed to doing everything in their power to make your stay on the Isle of Lewis a comfortable and memorable one.
